I finally switched from Eagle to Kicad. Kicad is open sourced and well documented. I tried to transpose the digital LFO and make a quick-dirty PCB.
There’re inevitably things I don’t like and others I rather appreciate over Eagle. However, I don’t like the overall look of the the schematic but there’s nothing to really compain about. Another interesting thing is that symbol and footprint are kept seperated. PCBwise, There’re some interesting features.
A lot of shortcuts via keyboard have to be learnt as well.
The creation of symbol and parts seems less complicated also.
I think is more a question of habbit and pratice, and Kicad seems very capable. But considering the price paid, nothing to complain about really. Loads of footprints on the internet.
